Cheat/Hack/Exploit and you're banned
Any fair or unfair advantage obtrained through means that are deemed as "cheats", "exploits", "hacks" or through means that were not meant to be part of the game or specified by the staff members of EQG is condiered using a cheat or cheating. Players found "cheating" will get an automatic BAN.
DO NOT shoot over barricades
Shooting over barricades (In Craig Mine) to take advantage of not getting attacked will result in punishment.
NO Safe zone debuffing
Using the safe zone to help afk de-buff (this includes healing and skill revoke!) yourself or others will get your account banned. If both characters are out of the safe zone then it is okay, this mainly applies in Elan.
Auto-chat (macro) spamming is not allowed
You can no longer use the auto-chat (macro) to spam for anything, Including (but not limited to) trades, sells or raid calls. Warnings/bans are given at the discretion of the GM
Do NOT send out your summon while you are in a safe zone
Standing in a safe location while your summon is attacking is prohibited! Doing so will earn you a ban possibly without even a warning. This is especially in effect for Elan
Do NOT misuse ANY public chat
This includes (but is not limited to) selling and buying through /map /all /race. Speaking ANY language other than English in public chats is considered misuse and will result in punishment.
Race Leader power Abuse will get your character DELETED
Race Leader abuse of banning powers will get your character removed for the rest of your Race Leader term, A suitable reason for the ban is now a requirement!
No accepting trades for items deemed "untradeable"
Trading of items that are not suppose to be tradeable according to the game (or if stated by a Game Master) is illegal and will result in an immediate BAN. Accepting such items will also result in a BAN.
Do NOT make any character with the words GM or [GM] in your name
Do not impersonate ANY staff members, doing so will result in an immediate ban of your account and deletion of the character.
Use your common sense when you play
If you have to ask if something is bannable it likely is, Don't do it!
Refrain from using offensive names
Please refrain from using offensive names for your characters as some players may take offense from this!
Do NOT NUKE in the core
Nuke of the HSK area will result in punishment!
No real money trades at all
You cannot sell items for real money, If you are caught doing so its and instant ban. If you are caught purchasing them, instant ban.
Do NOT attack/destroy city (map) guard towers
Destruction of a settlement tower will result in punishment!
Do NOT exploit tower line of sight
Do NOT exploit terrain or the tower line of sight to get past settlement towers.
Harassing other players is NOT allowed Do not harass a player
This includes (But not limited to) Killing some one of the same race excessively and killing AFK Miners after Chip War.
Putting up guard towers at Port-In locations is NOT allowed
Players do not have time to fully load in and prepare themselves. Such locations include (but are not limited to) Sette portals, the entrance of Volcanic Cauldron, Beast Mountain, Outcast, etc. (Putting guard towers at places not intended to be Port-In locations such as at the Blink Pitboss location is fine)
Do NOT misuse your towers in any way
Placing towers inside of walls, in areas only accessible through terrain exploiting, in a location a mob will not attack, in a place where they appear underground, or inside the core while the HSK is up WILL GET YOU BANNED
You will not be refunded lost items
We will not refund items that you may have lost because of stolen accounts, scammers, mailing, NPCing items, losing as a result of full bags, or trading before an announced server downtime. If you have something valuable, be extra careful with it and do not mail it!
Do NOT glitch your summon
This means any location where it cannot be targeted and attacked through normal conditions.
Being in a party with a blatant cheater is NOT allowed
If you are caught being partied with an obvious cheater you will be banned as well.
Terrain Exploiting of any kind will get you banned
Unfair advantages gained through terrain exploiting are not allowed. This excludes the HQ maps.
You are limited to one GvG per day
GvGs were not meant to be abused, One a day is the limit.
Unicode in names in moderation
You are allowed to have alternate letters in your name such as: Í, Ń, ő, etc. However; your character may very likely be deleted for wasting our time in typing out the name if it's a clear nuisance or possible ban for suspicion of cheating.
The use of ANY third party program is NOT allowed
Third party programs have one use, to give the player an unfair advantage that cannot be typically gained through normal measures of playing the game. ANY type of third party programming will result in a permanent ban.
Listen to the GMs
If a GM says something it is for a reason, DON'T Ignore them!
Guilds are required to stay active
Guilds must now have at least 15 members with the majority of which being active for the guild to be deemed acceptable. Any guild that does not live up to this will very likely be deleted as space is needed for REAL guilds. Multiple amounts of "Alternate" guilds that branch off of a real guild may also be deleted. 3 Day bans may be given to all guild members.
Only YOU should be accessing YOUR account
The trading of accounts WILL result in a permanent ban.
Video proof is REQUIRED for upgrading rare items
Any Intense item +6 or higher and any Relic/Leons weapon +3 or higher will require FRAPS video proof of the upgrading or risk the item being wiped or worse.
Non-archons wearing Archon Armor is NOT allowed
If you were an archon once and bought archon armor and still have it, you are not allowed to wear the armor once you are done your archon term (aka are no longer an archon). If caught doing so, you will be warned, punished or even permanently banned.
Archons are only allowed a max of 2 sets of armor on their character at all times
If found to be having more than 2 sets of armor, you may be punished.
Archons may not store archon armor in the bank
Unless of course you were an archon once and are no longer anymore. In this case, you can store it in your bank. However if you are a current Archon, you cannot.
Punishments
Punishments are subject to change by the Game Master administrating the BAN/Punishment
Third Party Programming such as Fly-hacking or speed/damage-hacking will result in a PERMANENT ban.
Terrain Exploiting will likely be a 72-hour ban on the first offense, or worse. The second time it's a permanent ban. If being used to level, it will be a permanent ban on the first offense, no exceptions.
Exploiting a summon will be a 72-hour ban on the first offense. The second time it's a permanent ban.
De-buffing into or out of a safe zone as well as healing someone outside of one or sending a summon out while you remain inside the safe zone will result in a 48 to 72-hour ban on the first offense. The second time will result in a 144-hour ban or worse. If it happens more than twice, it's a permanent ban.
Abusing turret blind spots to attack or walk around them will be a 72-hour ban for the first offense or worse, and a permanent ban for anymore offenses
Any misuse of a turret such as placing them at Port-In locations, placing them inside walls, or placing them inside the core after the HSK is up will result in a 72-hour ban or worse on the FIRST incident. Because of the high level of glitching recently, terrain exploiting to place a turret somewhere will likely result in a PERMANENT BAN.
Shooting over the barricades in the Crag Mine to avoid being hit by guards will result in a 72-hour ban.
Harassing other players will result in a 24-hour ban for the first offense, a 72-hour ban for the second offense, and a permanent ban if it continues to happen.
Spamming or Speaking a foreign language in any public chat such as Race/All/Buy/Sell/Map or misusing /all chat to buy/sell things will result in a ban now, not a chat ban. If it happens again you will receive a harsh punishment, possibly for weeks or permanent.
Accepting any items that you clearly should not have such as multiple “RFe Rates” jades will get you and the person you got it from a permanent ban.
Doing more then 1 GvG a day will result in a week ban for the first offense, permanent ban for any others.
Spamming excessively in normal (white) chat will get your account BANNED for AT LEAST 6 days.
If you party with cheaters knowing that they cheat, you will receive a 72-hour ban. If you do it again, it's permanent.
Use common sense, breaking the rules in any other way, shape, or form that isn't listed here will still result in punishment.
Website & Game CP Rules
Do not abuse the vote for GP system
If you have multiple accounts and your voting with them then you will get your alt accounts banned and likely any associated accounts. They are tracked by account name and IPs so you have no way of getting away with it. You can vote with your 3 allowed accounts, anymore then that is not allowed.
Do not spam the forums
Posting messages that are irrevelant to the topic, too short to provide any real contribution to the topic or that are simply jibbrish and make no sense or help in any way are considered spam and can result in both, a forum and account (game account) ban.
GM's personal visitors page is not meant to ask for help
There will be a support section put up for issues in the near future. For not if it is a technical issue post it in the technical support section. If it is a in-game Bug post it in the bug section.
You can have only 3 Game Accounts (and 1 forum)
Due to people abusing the system by making several game accounts and rigging the archon votes and vote-for-gp, you are only allowed 3 ACCOUNTS (1 person can have 3 accounts) maximum. By passing the limit will result in a BAN of all your Accounts including your main. The trading of accounts MIGHT result in a ban as well, do so at your own risk.
Keep your sigs short
Signatures are great and all but no one wants to be reading a post where 99% of it is your signature. Keep your images small, text small and in generall the size of your signature small.
Speak English only
Unfortunately to some, we only allow people to speak English in-game and on the forums. The only areas you may speak another language other than English is the Foreign Languages forum; There you may speak whatever language you see fit.
Please refrain from speaking other languages in the ChatBox & other forums! If you are warned several times to speak English, you will get a timed banned up to a permanent ban.
Do NOT hi-jack other peoples threads
Posting in someone elses thread and driving it away from the main threads topic is concidered hi-jacking a thread. In doing so will result in infractions given from 10 hours to 10 days!. Hi-jacking means, posting something totally unrelated in someones topic.
Post in the CORRECT forums always!
For example, do not make "help" topics in the "Auction House", make them in the "Technical Help" - if you are caught doing this several times, it will result in infractions.
Do not Harass other players or make racist remarks
You may speak your mind in the flaming section, but even a racist remark is not tolerated there.
Do not abuse the ChatBox
Keep questions to the forums as stated below the ChatBox. Do not ask for GMs to help you in the Chat Box, its not a place for questions or help - just use it for small talk.
Do NOT leave your text number anywhere
If you do, we will automatically ban you and all associated accounts for suspicion of RMT.
Do NOT revive old threads
Necroposting is reviving old threads that had generally been long dead (unposted in). Any thread more then a week old is likely a safe best not to post in unless you want to risk a forum ban.
